Why Bloomera has a cancellation policy

Bloomera appointments are reserved specifically for each client. Late cancellations and non-attendance make it difficult to offer that time to another client and affect the sustainability of a private psychology practice.

We understand that life, illness, pregnancy, parenting and work demands can be unpredictable. The policy is intended to be clear and fair while also protecting appointment availability and clinician time.

Cancellation and non-attendance fees

Notice provided Fee that may apply
48 hours or more before the appointment No cancellation fee.
Less than 48 hours before the appointment A cancellation fee up to 100% of the appointment fee may apply.
Non-attendance / no notice The full appointment fee may apply.
Late arrival The appointment may proceed for the remaining scheduled time. The Practitioner in their sole clinical discretion may choose to accommodate a late arrival. The full appointment fee may still apply.

Medicare rebates, private health rebates and third-party rebates are not available for missed appointments or cancellation fees.

Illness, emergencies and exceptional circumstances

Bloomera may waive or reduce a cancellation fee at its discretion where there are genuine exceptional circumstances, such as sudden illness, emergency, birth-related circumstances, hospitalisation, crisis or unavoidable caring responsibilities. Supporting information may be requested where appropriate.

Appointment reminders

Bloomera recognises that many clients, including neurodivergent clients and clients navigating pregnancy, postpartum, parenting, fertility treatment, trauma, anxiety or a high life load, may benefit from additional structure and reminders to support attendance.

Where possible, Bloomera uses thoughtfully considered reminder systems, including SMS and/or email reminders, timed to support attendance and provide notice before cancellation timeframes apply. These reminders are intended to help clients plan ahead, reschedule within the required notice period where needed, and reduce missed appointments.

Appointment reminders are provided as a courtesy and support tool. Clients remain responsible for attending scheduled appointments or providing the required notice if they need to cancel or reschedule.

If you are running late, please contact Bloomera as soon as possible. Your psychologist may still be able to see you for the remaining appointment time; however, the session will usually finish at the scheduled end time and the full appointment fee may still apply.

How to cancel or reschedule

Please cancel or reschedule as early as possible using the booking link where available or by contacting Bloomera at hello@bloomera.com.au. If cancellation occurs close to the appointment time, email is preferred so there is a written record.

Unpaid cancellation fees

Unpaid cancellation fees may need to be settled before further appointments are offered. Bloomera will consider clinical risk, continuity of care and fairness before suspending or ending services due to unpaid fees.
