How it works
A calmer way to begin
You do not need to know exactly what kind of support you need, or how to explain everything before you enquire.
-
Tell us what stage you are in, what feels most important and any preferences that may help us understand your needs. This is an enquiry, not a booking: you will not be asked to choose an appointment or enter payment details at this stage.
-
Every enquiry is thoughtfully reviewed to understand your needs, any important clinical considerations, your availability and which psychologist may be the most suitable match. Jaclyn provides clinical oversight of Bloomera’s matching approach. If we need a little more information, we may ask a few clarifying questions.
You can expect to hear from us by email within two business days. If you haven’t received a reply, please check your junk or spam folder.
-
If Bloomera feels like the right fit, we’ll let you know which psychologist we suggest you match with and share relevant information about their experience and approach before you decide whether you would like to book.
We’ll also explain availability, fees, referral requirements and what happens next. If we feel another service may better suit your needs, we’ll let you know thoughtfully and respectfully.
If you decide to proceed, we will send the next intake and consent steps through Bloomera’s secure practice system. More detailed personal and clinical information is collected there rather than in the initial website enquiry.
-
Your psychologist will understand what has brought you here, relevant history, current supports, risk and what you hope therapy may assist with.
-
Therapy is collaborative. Focus, pace and progress are reviewed over time, and additional or alternative support is discussed when needed.
What you can expect from us
Clear information about what happens next.
Respectful communication and thoughtful matching.
Care that recognises context, identity, capacity and lived experience.
Professional privacy, consent and clinical boundaries.
Honesty when Bloomera may not be the right service.

Mental Health TReatment Plan
Using a Mental Health Treatment Plan
You do not need a Mental Health Treatment Plan to enquire or attend Bloomera privately. If you would like to explore Medicare rebates, the steps below can help you understand the pathway.
-
Tell your GP or referring practitioner that you would like to discuss your mental health and whether a Mental Health Treatment Plan and Better Access referral may be appropriate. The referring practitioner decides whether you are eligible and whether this pathway suits your needs.
-
Under Better Access, the initial individual course can include up to six services. Your practitioner decides how many services to include in the referral, within the Medicare limits.
-
Your referral must be provided to Bloomera before Medicare-rebatable psychology services can be claimed. You may also choose to share your Mental Health Treatment Plan with us, but the referral itself is the key document required for the Better Access service pathway.
-
We will explain the session fee, the Medicare rebate that may apply, any out-of-pocket cost and what happens next. Medicare rebates generally cover part of the fee rather than the full Bloomera fee.
-
Your psychologist may provide a progress report to your referrer. You can then return to the referring practitioner for review. If further Better Access treatment is appropriate, a new referral is required for a subsequent course, up to the annual limit of 10 individual mental health treatment services.

Talking with your GP
Preparing for a GP appointment can feel difficult when you’re already carrying a lot.
This worksheet helps you gather your thoughts, describe how things have been, and ask about psychological support and a Mental Health Treatment Plan.
Bloomera does not define what motherhood should look like, or whether motherhood is the only meaningful ending. We are here for women across cultures, ethnicities, faiths, identities, sexualities, family structures, histories, and ways of thinking, feeling and moving through the world. There is no single face of wanting. No single way to become. No single way to mother.
Some of the faces you see here and across our social channels are real, others are chosen with the same care. No image identifies a client or stands as a testimonial. We hold every contribution with deep gratitude.
